Finland vs USA Prediction
USA clutched up when needed against Czechia, who gave them a stern semi-final test. Whilst USA came through 4-1, they were indebted to goalkeeper Trey Augustine, the Michigan State University star making 26 saves from 27 shots. Getting past Augustine will be a tall order for a Finland side who have only scored 19 goals across the competition so far compared to USA’s 33.
As it stands, USA are yet to score less than four goals over the course of a single fixture in this tournament and it’s hard to see that changing in the final with their exciting attacking resources. On the flip-side, if Augustine plays like he did in the semi-final, then the chances of Finland scoring four past him are extremely slim. Therefore, the smart move would be to back USA securing the gold medal and a seventh World Junior Championship crown.
