Playing with a chip on your shoulder means behaving with an attitude of resentment, anger, or defensiveness stemming from a perceived unfair treatment or slight.

Because of his size, Jack Lambert played with a chip on his shoulder that was driven by a deep-seated need to prove himself in the face of adversity or doubt.

Given the underdog mentality of Kent State football, I believe current Kent State players need to play with a chip on their shoulder.

In order to do that they will need to outwork their opponents and play with a strong sense of motivation to achieve their goals.

In this video you will see why Lambert was the epitome of a player who played with a chip on his shoulder and played with passion.
