Earlier this week, KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight became the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions by dethroning Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney at NJPW King of Pro Wrestling. It’s now been announced that KUSHIDA & Knight’s first title defense will take place outside of NJPW. They’re putting the belts on the line in a four-way match at night one of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Forged in Excellence this Saturday.
Previously announced for the show are AEW star “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita taking on TNA Wrestling star “Speedball” Mike Bailey in a singles match, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena putting her title on the line against Gisele Shaw, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray facing former WWE star Raj Dhesi (Jinder Mahal) in a Tables Match, TNA star “Speedball” Mike Bailey taking on NJPW star El Phantasmo, TNA star “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander, Stu Grayson and NJPW’s El Phantasmo taking on Trevor Lee, AEW’s Rocky Romero and Alex Zayne in a 6-Man Tag Team Match, Gisele Shaw taking on Miyu Yamashita in a one-on-one match, AEW International Champion
“The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita defending his title against TNA star “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander, QPW Qatar Champion Classy Ali defending his title against El Reverso, TNA star Jake Something, Trevor Lee, Stu Grayson, Sheldon Jean, Mike Rollins and Alex Zayne facing each other in a 6-Man Scramble Match and Jake Something facing Rohan Raja to crown the inaugural Pro Wrestling Alliance Grail Champion.
D'Amore told CBC that, for him, Maple Leaf Wrestling was synonymous with sharing experiences with people he loved.
"Being here in Windsor at Hotel-Dieux Hospital, my grandfather was quite ill, and as a young child, [I was] quite scared," D'Amore explained.
"And the one hour every week that it seemed that I wasn't scared to be there in the hospital was that one hour that wrestling was on Saturdays."sadsadsadasdasdsaddhfgh
