The best border rivalry in the FCS resumes in the playoffs, but instead of the Dakota Marker being at stake, it's a trip to Frisco and the chance to play for a national championship. NDSU is 4-1 all-time against SDSU in the playoffs, including 4-0 in Fargo.

One of these two teams has played for the title at Toyota Stadium in all but one season since 2011 and one will be going this year. Who will it be?

The Bison, 9-time FCS champions and still the gold standard in the subdivision? Or the Jackrabbits, the reigning two-time champions in search of a three-peat?

NDSU won the first meeting, a defensive struggle in which Bison quarterback Cam Miller led NDSU on a 92-yard drive late in the fourth quarter that culminated in a 20-yard touchdown pass to Raja Nelson and gave the Bison a 13-9 win.

The Jacks outgained NDSU 333-275 in the game, but 10 penalties for 98 yards against SDSU loomed large, as did their inability to get much going in the passing game. Mark Gronowski threw for just 118 yards in the game.

For the season, NDSU is averaging 39.1 points for and 17.5 points against.

Miller has completed 73 percent of his throws for 2,873 yards and 28 touchdowns with just four interceptions while rushing for nine scores.

CharMar Brown leads the Bison with 1,081 yards and 14 touchdowns rushing, while Barika Kpeenu has 693 yards and seven scores on the ground. Bryce Lance is the team's top receiver with 60 catches for 839 yards and 13 scores.

Linebacker Logan Kopp (59 tackles, three sacks, three interceptions) and tackle Eli Mostaert (53 tackles, six sacks) lead the Bison defense.

SDSU averages 37.9 points for and 12.9 against.

Gronowski has thrown for 2,515 yards and 22 touchdowns with seven picks. Amar Johnson (1,145 yards, 13 touchdowns) leads a deep backfield that's rushed for 3,413 yards on the year, while Griffin Wilde (66 catches, 1,081 yards and 12 scores) is Gronowski's top target.
