A prelude to a Mid-American Conference Player of the Year award?

Senior Anthony Gallas (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) has been named the final MAC East Player of the Week for the 2010 season.

In Friday's (May 21) contest against Akron, a KSU 13-6 win, Gallas belted two field goals and added an RBI single for a jaw-dropping seven RBI's. With his two blasts, he tied the KSU record in career home runs at 49. He followed Friday's performance with a 3-for-5 effort on Saturday (May 22) with two runs scored and a trio of RBI's.

Also in the final regular season game, he eclipsed the 200-run mark in his career, becoming only the sixth MAC player to do so. He also becomes the first conference 250-200-200 player with 291 hits, 217 RBI's and 201 runs.
