The 2024 PointsBet Invitational curling tournament is set to take place from September 25 to 29 at the Markin MacPhail Centre, located at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta. This event will feature 32 top Canadian teams and serve as the first major competition of the 2024–25 season. Following a single-elimination format, the tournament will see the winning team in both the men's and women's divisions take home $50,000 each.



Criteria for 2024 PointsBet Invitational​


The teams include:
  • Top 10 men’s and women’s teams from the 2023-24 Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS).
  • The 2023-24 Alberta champions (Team Selena Sturmay for women, Team Aaron Sluchinski for men).
  • Champions from the 2024 New Holland Canadian Under 21 Championships, Canadian Colleges Athletic Association/Curling Canada College Championships, U SPORTS/Curling Canada Canadian University Championships, and the Curling Canada Under-25 NextGen Classic.
  • The 2023 Everest Canadian Curling Club Champions (Team Abby Burgess for women, Team Dan Sherrard for men).

In cases where a championship-winning team is already among the top 10 CTRS teams, the next highest-ranked non-qualified team will be selected.

2024 PointsBet Invitational Tournament Prize Distribution​


All 32 teams will receive $5,000 to cover travel and accommodations, and additional earnings for each round they advance:
  • $3,000 for a first-round win,
  • $6,000 for a quarterfinal win,
  • $12,000 for a semifinal win,
  • $24,000 for the championship win.
Both the men’s and women’s champions will walk away with $50,000 each.
