Cincinnati Bearcats AD John Cunningham

"We understand the importance of this historic rivalry to our fans and college football, and we are disappointed Miami University will not be coming to Nippert Stadium next season. However, we look forward to facing the RedHawks at Yager Stadium in the Battle for the Victory Bell this fall and at Paycor Stadium in 2026. We will continue to explore opportunities to play Miami in the future. We thank Miami for the many memorable moments over the years."

Cincinnati Blows Late Lead
The Cincinnati Bearcats wish they could replay the fourth quarter of last week's game against Pitt. They went into the period up 27-13, but surrendered 15 points in an unconventional method. They allowed two touchdowns, as Pitt went for two both times, but were unsuccessful on both attempts. Pitt then hit the game-winning field goal with just 17 seconds left on the clock. Cincinnati is now 1-1 on the season, but their one win came against an FCS school, defeating Towson by 18 points when they were favored by 33.5. In the game against Pitt, Cincy running back Corey Kiner had 149 yards in the close loss.

The battle for the Victory Bell went to Miami University in a 31-24 battle that launched its amazing season. It also showed just how far Cincinnati had to go in the rebuild in the post-Luke Fickell era.

The RedHawks are as good as anyone in the MAC, and they’ll get their shot to get past the 13-6 defensive slugfest loss to Northwestern with this rivalry battle and then Notre Dame next week.
