A Historic Return for Francis Ngannou

Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, is stepping back into the spotlight after a successful stint in boxing. The 37-year-old fighter is eager to reclaim his dominance in the MMA world, having signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in May 2023. This fight marks Ngannou's PFL debut, and the stakes are high with the newly introduced PFL heavyweight Superfight Championship belt on the line.

Ngannou's last fight in the octagon took place at UFC 270 in January 2022, where he successfully defended his title against Ciryl Gane in a unanimous decision. However, following a tumultuous contract dispute, he left the UFC and was stripped of his title in January 2023. Instead of fading from the spotlight, Ngannou gained global attention through high-profile boxing matches against Tyson Fury in October 2023 and Anthony Joshua in May 2024. His tenacity in the ring nearly earned him victory against Fury, while he faced a setback against Joshua.
