KSU to make special announcement on Oct. 12

KENT, Ohio ? Kent State is holding a press conference on Tuesday, Oct. 12 to make a special announcement regarding former Golden Flashes standout Joshua Cribbs.

Kent State Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen and Cribbs will both be available for comment that day. The announcement pertains to events surrounding Joshua Cribbs Day, which is set for Saturday, Oct. 30 when the Flashes host Ball State.

Kent State hosts rival Akron this Saturday (Oct. 9) for Homecoming at 3:30 p.m. in Dix Stadium.

Josh Cribbs day really? Why do they not have a day for the Lambert, Saban, Holtz, the 72 team etc. If they celebrated the past a little bit more it may help build a better perception about the program.

I've been saying that for awhile. A 1972 reunion would be nice, but having a day for Saban when he has his own games and can't show up makes little sense. A day for Holtz would be another great idea though, and not just him coming in for a speech on a Thursday evening. I'm sure Lou would love it...big stretch, but he could use his sway to have the Gameday crew show up and make a big event out of it, like our rivalry game with Akron would be perfect.
