Toughness. Pride. Resilience. These key words have come to describe EMU football.

Named the 37th head football coach at Eastern Michigan University on Dec. 11, 2013, Chris Creighton and his staff have made tremendous strides in changing the culture and mindset surrounding the program.

After the Eagles 52-33 win over the Golden Flashes yesterday, I have to admire Coach Creighton for staying at Eastern Michigan and building a culture and mindset that’s been missing in Ypsilanti for as long as I can remember.

Unlike Sean Lewis, whose "FlashFast family" culture was a sham, he didn't cut and run after five seasons but chose to stay to continue coaching and supporting his players.

If only Kent State could learn from Eastern Michigan.
