The defending Super Bowl champions have started the season in much the same way, recording three one-score wins that were nailbiters to the very end. During the final five minutes of last Sunday’s 22-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, the Chiefs’ defense forced Atlanta to give up the ball on back-to-back red-zone drives.
The Chargers are coming off their first defeat: a 20-10 road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in which they were held scoreless in the second half and lost four starters to injury: quarterback Justin Herbert, right tackle Joe Alt, left tackle Rashawn Slater and pass rusher Joey Bosa.
