The 2024 AFL Grand Final is here, with the Sydney Swans to face the Brisbane Lions. Remarkably it will be a 125-year rematch (of sorts), as the last time the Swans and Lions faced off for the flag was the 1899 VFL Grand Final, back when both clubs were based in Victoria as South Melbourne and Fitzroy respectively. The 2024 AFL Grand Final starts at 2:30pm AEST on Saturday September 28 at the MCG.

What is the 2024 AFL Grand Final entertainment?
Following blockbuster performances from Robbie Williams and KISS in the past two years, the AFL has landed another international megastar to headline the 2024 AFL Grand Final.
Pop icon Katy Perry, with hits like Roar, Teenage Dream and Firework, and California Girls is set to perform in front of a 100,000-strong crowd at the MCG on the last Saturday in September.
“Katy Perry is an international music icon who has been entertaining fans with her chart-topping hits for many years, so the AFL is delighted to have her join us at the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final in what will be a spectacular Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment performance,” AFL exec Kylie Rogers said.
“The AFL continues to attract world class artists to our game, and we’re honoured to have Katy Perry on board to entertain a full house at the MCG and the millions of fans tuning in across the world.”
Joining Perry as part of the day's entertainment will be Christine Anu and her daughter Zipporah Corser-Anu performing for the First Nations ceremony alongside the Songlines Youth choir, while Mike Brady will perform ‘Up There Cazaly’.
Perry has also hinted at a surprise appearance from Tina Arena.
Australian singer, actor and athlete Cody Simpson will perform the Australian National anthem.
