As the 2012 season approached "One Team, One Destiny" became the rallying cry of Golden Flashes Football, a focal point for a once fragmented team to come together for a shared purposed. The team would reach historic heights not seen in four decades. A last second game-winning field goal, an upset victory against a nationally ranked team, a perfect regular season conference record, a Mid-American Conference East Division championship and the first bowl game appearance since 1972.
